We faced difficulties tracking and maintaining the inventory buckets after an increase in the in-transit inventory from warehouse to site. It caused unnecessary delays in asset capitalization and impacted inventory valuation for Local Markets. We resolved the issue by developing a central reporting mechanism, enabling us to track inventory, set KPIs for each local market, and highlight required actions.
At VOIS, we wanted to improve the SOX compliance percentage by implementing a standardized leavers’ process for everyone to ensure employees and contractors across VOIS can leave the company in a more compliant manner.
We found that the product purchased through a reseller was available with the manufacturer at lower prices. Without wasting any time, we took the opportunity to save expenses by purchasing directly through the manufacturer after setting up a call to determine technical configurations and delivery timelines.
Challenges and Solutions
Challenges
The request for quotation from VF UK came to the Category Sourcing team to confirm the material category before initiating a purchase. We found that the product purchased through the reseller was available from a manufacturer with whom Vodafone Procurement Company already has direct contact.
Solutions
We informed the local market about this and scheduled a call between the manufacturer and the UK local market to discuss technical configurations and delivery timelines. The final quote we received from the manufacturer was cheaper by $20K compared to the original quote from the reseller.
