We introduced VOISLAND, a metaverse experience that allows candidates to learn and experience more about VOIS. Our ultimate ambition is to create. In June 2022, EDGE VOIS dived straight into the Metaverse land. An uncharted area, an imaginary world filled with virtual figures, 3D visuals, and enchanting games, created a newfound means to increase user interaction and engagement. We begin exploring the Metaverse gaming world.
Why Metaverse Event VOISLAND?
Though Metaverse had marked its presence with Second Life and other popular online games like Fortnite and mobile AR games like Pokémon GO, it was still to gain the attention of technologists, companies, and consumers for its development, usage, and effects on user experience. The EDGE saw this as an opportunity to explore how Metaverse can create new ways to connect and interact with colleagues, customers, and communities in the virtual world. With every new start comes challenges and the dilemma of how to get started. We also faced that and took the plunge to experiment and improve. We took a different route. We planned to craft various 2D and 3D experiences to address diverse requirements such as customer acquisition, community development, and employee engagement in public and private metaverse environments. Different metaverse capabilities and different approaches led to some interesting outcomes. By focusing on the Next Generation of Talent with Roblox, a massive global gaming platform with around 54 M+ daily active users, we believe that VOIS can benefit from its presence in Roblox by creating a virtual community with the younger generation. In one or many ways, being on Roblox is like using any social media platform.
The journey of VOISLAND
We started with a squad of enthusiasts and a skilled team to build our VOIS game on Roblox. We lacked a few skills and resources to complete the project. To overcome this challenge, we worked with agility and persistence, focusing on achieving our goal, and created the MVP version of the game within six weeks.s New ideas and approaches helped in improving the game. It was a unique experience for the game development team. We created a product with superior features. Keeping in mind the three of Vodafone's spirit values – experiment/learn fast, get it done together, and create the future, we finally embarked on our journey of the first-ever public metaverse presence of VOIS. We learned a lot. A few takeaways from this VOISLAND development journey are – Passion is intrinsic. Develop skills. Create the right environment by bringing in the right people. Get the right talent and give them their space. Quick acceptance of failure speeds up the success journey.
