We created TestShell migration to the SKDF program for Vodafone Business Quality Assurance and Testing GSL. We wanted to enable our built-in house framework, developed by Test Automation COE, to support different capabilities for handling testing automation and business flow automation, as well as support technologies like (web-based, desktop-based, API-based, and Java-based) applications. We wanted to handle different issues raised by customers that prevent them from doing automation activities to reach their acceleration and maturity targets. This innovation helped in accomplishing cooperation with customers to support fast delivery.

Challenges and Solutions

Challenges

The challenge was to migrate 5000 automation scripts from the commercial tool “TestShell” built on .Net technologies into our built-in house framework “SKDF” based on Java technologies where SKDF wasn’t supporting different features inside TestShell. It needed maintenance effort after the migration and validation of the migrated scripts. Project teams had to migrate all the scripts manually if we did not develop any solution.

Solutions

Our team developed different features and added new technologies inside SKDF.
We developed a migration tool to parse the scripts into SKDF, built multiple capabilities, and created different macros to help move test data into the same data format as SKDF.

Intelligent Dispatching Tool - R1

Our Incident Management teams partnered with Vodafone Germany and built a database-to-database connection as a web-based application for fast, automated dispatching techniques, eliminating manual operations where there were delays. Our Intelligent Dispatching (DB) tool is connected to remedy any issues through Amazon Web Services (AWS) data migration services to get all relevant tickets and then pass those tickets to our logic and dispatching algorithm.
